Short Take: Wireless device spec drafted

The Home Radio Frequency Working Group has finished a first draft of a Shared Wireless Access Protocol (SWAP) for wireless communications among consumer devices in the home. The group, chaired by Intel, expects to deliver the final version at year's end, with the first devices based on the spec expected in 1999's second half. The group has added 28 new members, including Sony and Matsushita Electric Industrial.
