ViaWeb has released a new version of its server-based online store software that lets merchants share revenues with Web sites that send them buying customers. Online bookseller Amazon.com pioneered such affiliate programs, but ViaWeb says it is the first to build that capability into its software. ViaWeb charges merchants $100 per month and up, based on how many items are listed, for hosting storefronts.
