Short Take: Symantec profits jump

Antivirus software maker Symantec yesterday reported an increase in quarterly revenues and net income. The company posted revenues of $139 million for the quarter ending September 30, compared with $109.2 million a year ago. Meanwhile, its profits jumped dramatically to $20.6 million, or 35 cents a share, compared with $882,000, or 2 cents a share, a year ago.
