Short Take: Sony combines operations

Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) will combine its operations in efforts to prepare for the introduction of the PlayStation 2 system. Sony's publishing and development group, 989 Studios, will be merged into SCEA and run by its current management. Shuhei Yoshida will be the new vice president of product development for the company. Kelly Flock, president of 989 Studios, will leave the organization as of April 1, 2000. Headquarters will remain in Foster City, Calif.
