The Securities and Exchange Commission charged Internet newsletter writer Shannon Terry, 27, with profiting from stock he had inflated with upbeat reports. Terry, a contractor for SGA Goldstar Research, allegedly netted $851,322 from sales of the stock given to him by companies he subsequently touted. The 18 companies include Ameriquest Technologies, Century Tech, and Standard Brands of America, according to the complaint. Terry has denied the charges.
