PSINet Ventures, the investment unit of Internet service provider and Web hosting firm PSINet, has announced investments in more than 80 international start-up companies. PSINet's stakes include investments in several ISPs, application service providers, content caching companies, Web hosting firms, e-commerce companies and others in Hong Kong, China, Japan, Australia, India, Canada and Brazil. PSINet's investments include a stake in OmniSky, a wireless data company.
