Oracle's Network Computer Incorporated unit has completed the acquisition of Navio Communications. Oracle acquired the maker of Internet set-top boxes in an effort to become more competitive with Microsoft's recently acquired WebTV. The Oracle devices will cost $300 and allow TV viewers to browse the Web, send and receive email, view electronic TV guides, and eventually play online game shows. As reported, restructuring of NCI prior to completing the merger resulted in some staff cutbacks.
