Short Take: More schools and libraries get e-rate discount

The Schools and Libraries Corporation (SLC) has sent out another round of funding commitment letters to some 3,300 schools and libraries who applied for a federal Net access discount known as the e-rate. Set up by the Federal Communications Commission to run the program, the SLC said that $75 million of the $1.275 billion allocated for the program this year has been delegated. The next round goes out in January.
