Short Take: MMC Networks names former 3Com exec as CEO

Network chip provider MMC Networks announced that Douglas Spreng, a former executive vice president for 3Com, will take over as president and chief executive. Former CEO Prabhat Dubey resigned in November of last year, for personal reasons. Since then, founder and chairman Amos Wilnai filled in as interim chief executive. Spreng recently left 3Com in the midst of lowered fiscal expectations and an ongoing revision to the company's strategic focus.
