Short Take: Level 3 buys British ISP

Level 3 Communications, a telecommunications carrier building a new fiber optic network, has acquired London-based Internet service provider BusinessNet Limited in a stock deal. The four-year old ISP offers Net access, secure Intranets, and video services to more than 300 corporate customers. The acquisition is intended to help boost Level 3's push into European data markets. Level 3 bought German ISP miknet in September.
