Short Take: ISS ships database scanner

Internet Security Systems is shipping Database Scanner 1.0, based on technology acquired in October with DBSecure. The intrusion detection software scans database software, initially Microsoft and Sybase, for security holes. Last week the company added host-based intrusion detection tools, System Scanner for Windows, which assesses individual devices on a network for security weaknesses. Database Scanner costs $995 per database server.
