Short Take: Intel debuts Express Gigabit Switch

Intel announced a line of gigabit-speed interface cards and a new switching device based partially on technology licensed from Prominet, which was acquired by Lucent Technologies last year. The Express Gigabit Switch includes seven Gigabit Ethernet ports and other options for other Ethernet speeds. The new gear will start rolling out in June.
