Short Take: HP revamps OpenMail

Hewlett-Packard has updated its OpenMail software for Unix and Linux in a version that will be released by the end of the month. The new version, 6.1, adds features that strip out viruses with Trend Micro's antivirus software; allow email access over the Web instead of just through email software; enable encryption; and expand the number of email boxes to 32 million per server, the company said. OpenMail is back-end software that lets people use Internet email as well as Microsoft calendar and schedule features.
