Short Take: HP lowers PC workstation prices

Hewlett-Packard has cut prices up to 6 percent on its PC workstations. The cuts are effective immediately. An HP Vectra XA PC with a 200-MHz Pentium Pro, 2.1GB hard disk drive, and 32MB of memory now sells for less than $3,000. An HP Vectra XA PC with a 166-MHz MMX Pentium, 2.5GB hard disk drive, 16MB of memory, and CD-ROM drive, costs less than $1,950.
