Hewlett-Packard cut prices on its MediaStream broadcasting servers, which are used for video compression and Web broadcasting, as well as introduced 18GB drives for these high-end systems. The MediaStream server now starts at $70,000, 39 percent lower than previously. With the new 18GB disks, the servers are capable of storing 108 hours of video footage.
