Short Take: CoreExpress to buy Sycamore gear

Sycamore Networks has signed a multiyear agreement with CoreExpress for up to $100 million in optical switching equipment. CoreExpress, an Internet-based services company, will use Sycamore gear for its new extranet service. CoreExpress, which also is using Juniper Networks routers for the extranet service, will install Sycamore's SN 16000 optical switches. Sycamore will provide financing to help CoreExpress purchase the equipment. Other Sycamore customers include Vodafone Limited and Williams Communications.
