Short Take: Cisco forms networking group

Cisco Systems has created a new initiative designed to spur use of Internet-based networking technologies within small and medium-sized businesses. The so-called Resource Network for Growing Businesses consists of a combination of alliances with third parties, such as Great Plains Software, Netmosphere, and SalesLogix, among others, and marketing programs targeting at reseller sales channels. The company said the initiative would expand its breadth over time, with the hopes of allowing smaller organizations to take advantage of network-based software applications.
