Short Take: AT&T WorldNet suffers service slowdown

Thousands of users of AT&T WorldNet, Ma Bell's consumer Internet service, suffered email message delays this week when an upsurge in email use and multimedia-rich electronic holiday greeting cards congested WorldNet servers. The service delays affected about 10 percent of WorldNet's 1.3 million customers, according to spokesman Jonathan Varman. Varman said the problem is 95 percent resolved and will soon be completely fixed.
