Short Take: AT&T to transition from TCI brand

AT&T, the nation's largest long distance voice carrier and soon-to-be largest cable operator, will begin its transition from the Tele-Communications Incorporated cable TV brand August 3. AT&T, which acquired TCI earlier this year, will switch to the AT&T name from TCI on service trucks, employee uniforms, and on recorded phone greetings and other aspects of the business. AT&T operates more than 600 local cable systems serving more than 10 million customers.
