Akamai Technologies, which provides network enhancements for delivering digital content over the Internet, has announced a cross-marketing agreement with Loudeye Technologies, a start-up that converts content in analog formats such as VHS to digital. Akamai also agreed to take a $5 million equity investment in Loudeye. The deal follows Akamai's $2.8 billion acquisition of Intervu and is the latest move by Akamai to cement its place in the burgeoning streaming media market.
