3Com officially rolled out the packet-based version of its CoreBuilder 9000 network switch, the key component in the company's drive to take a piece of the corporate networking market. The company offers the 9000 in both cell-based asynchronous transfer mode and Ethernet based versions that include gigabit speeds. The packet-based CoreBuilder is available now for a base price of $35,800, with various options rolling out immediately through the end of the year.
