Short Take: 3Com releases new PC modem card

3Com has released a new PC modem card that also doubles as a network adapter card. The PC card, which costs $269, has a 56 kilobit-per-second (kpbs) modem and can connect to corporate networks using an Ethernet connection. The modem, usable with phone systems throughout the world, includes 3Com's "Xjack" connector, which lets people plug their phoneline directly to the modem without using a dongle.
