Olivetti, the troubled computer maker, today announced the resignation of chief executive Francesco Caio, who abruptly quit during a board meeting. Just two weeks ago, the company's chairman, Carlo De Benedetti, resigned after failing to pull the company into the black. The company, which has not made a profit since 1990, is being investigated by stock exchange regulators over its first-half financial results.
