Amquest introduced its line of 33.6 HyperModems, which deliver over 2-1/2 times the speed of conventional 33.6- and 28.8-kbps modems using Rockwell controller/data pump chipsets. Amquest designed the modems to install simply and work just like standard internal V.34 modems. Users can select the 115K option in their software package and the HyperModem's 300K maximum throughput is automatically enabled. All modems include Internet software and will be available this month. The internal, internal voice, and external modems will cost $149, $159 and $169, respectively.
