Samsung SGH-ZX20 closer to launch

User manuals for the Samsung SGH-ZX20 have popped up on PhoneArena.com. Though it's well known the ZX20 will be one of Cingular's first HSDPA cell phones, it's unclear whether Samsung will beat the similarly equipped LG CU500 to market. The ZX20 is the follow-up to Cingular's Samsung SGH-ZX10, which is equipped for slower (but still 3G) UMTS data speeds. We first saw both phones at CES earlier this year.

With Cingular's HSDPA network promising data speeds of 400Kbps to 700Kbps, the ZX20 will offer the mobile equivalent of a broadband Web connection. Besides streaming video and audio, you'll be able to download large files and graphics-heavy Web pages in a flash. Other features include a 1.3-megapixel camera with video, a digital media player for AAC and MP3 files, Bluetooth 2.0, a speakerphone, a MicroSD card slot, text and multimedia messaging, instant messaging (AOL, ICQ, and Yahoo), and quad-band (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) world phone support. Our only complaint thus far is that the flip phone design is a bit humdrum. Of course, we'll have to save our final verdict for when we get the Samsung ZX20 in our hands.
