With a smartphone in the majority of pockets, it's hard to imagine what life would be like without them — but chip maker Qualcomm has given it a red-hot go.

Life without smartphones? Are you crazy? What kind of world would that be?

How would we update Twitter or listen to music or check our email on the bus? What about the all-important Angry Birds?

If you've ever wondered how we could possibly manage, you're right to worry. Chip maker Qualcomm has figured it out, and the world looks like it would be a very rough, dangerous place to live, indeed. The company has put together a short promotional video detailing the perils of life without smartphones, and it looks like it would involve a lot of bruises.

Actually, we'd probably just carry around a book, a Game Boy Color and a Nokia 5110, like we did 15 years ago. But shh, let's not spoil the joke.
