Want a Portal gun? One fan couldn't get the official replica, so she built her own out of 3D-printed parts.
She started the project in February this year, and finished it just in time for San Diego Comic-Con in August. Inside the back case are buttons that control sound effects and light effects, which are produced with blue and orange LEDs inside a metal tube lined with diffusion film.
According to techgeekgirl, her replica is more accurate than the official one, because the casing designs are taken directly from the game. It certainly looks more complex.
Some assembly and parts are required, but if you want to make one of your own, you can make a start with the 3D-printed casing parts from Shapeways. It'll cost you a pretty penny, but we think the results are stunning.
