Oracle chief executive, Larry Ellison, will unveil a prototype of the company's much-talked-about $500 Net computer, the NC, in Japan today.
The computer is designed for Net surfing, email, and word processing capabilities, but is not powerful enough for more demanding uses.
Company officials say they plan to demonstrate a working prototype in March and will ship the finished product sometime this summer.
