OpenTV moves deeper into China

OpenTV will provide its software for interactive TV to a second market in China, the company said Thursday. OpenTV will work with an investment and system integration company called Sichuan NTC to launch interactive TV early next year for cable customers in the Henan province. Earlier this year, Mountain View, Calif.-based OpenTV announced a similar deal with the Shanghai Cable Network. OpenTV's service will be available to about 1.5 million broadband cable households in Henan, China's most populous province. In addition, OpenTV said, its agreement with NTC is expected to lead to further deals throughout China.
