DC Comics fans all know how well Batman and Robin worked as a team in their previous comics, films and TV shows, but in the world of Lego anything can happen.
In the new "Lego Batman Movie" trailer, which debuted at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, fans got another glimpse inside the Caped Crusader's Batcave, Batcomputer, well...Bat everything. But most importantly, the new footage shows more of the relationship between Batman and his crime-fighting ward, Dick Grayson, best known as Robin.
"Lego Batman Movie" focuses on Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, played by Will Arnett, who will be reprising his role from "The Lego Movie."
The movie starts with Batman depending mostly on his butler Alfred (voiced by Ralph Fiennes). But the introduction of Dick Grayson/Robin (voiced by Michael Cera) and Barbara Gordon/Batgirl (voiced by Rosario Dawson) turns his super-secret double life as a crime fighter upside down.
The new trailer shows Batman taking a rather annoying Robin under his wing, but also reveals how Robin ended up with a red, green and yellow costume in the first place and why the Batmobile could use some seat belts.
"Lego Batman Movie" is written by Seth Grahame-Smith, directed by Chris McKay and also stars actor Zach Galifianakis and singer Mariah Carey. The animated movie opens in theaters on February 10, 2017.
