No doubt Sony Pictures heard the fan complaints about the first "Ghostbusters" trailer and decided to veer in a slightly different direction for the second official full-length trailer. We've now got way more ghosts and a lot less emphasis on the getting-the-team-together storyline found in the original trailer.
The new trailer starts off dark and moody, though we still get spectral vomit and plenty of slapstick. The footage features way more green and blue ghost beasties along with a cameo from popular original-film ghost Slimer. There's also a peek at what looks like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man's long-lost brother, a bulbous white monster sporting pointy teeth and a red bow-tie.
There's not much more to go on plot-wise here. This still boils down to what we already know: Someone is purposefully amplifying paranormal activity in New York City and it's up to our phantom-fighting heroines to stop it. "Ghostbusters" opens in theaters worldwide in July.
