NEC introduced two new lines of notebook computers.

NEC introduced two new lines of notebook computers today.

The Versa 2400 series will include 100- or 133-MHz Pentium processors, up to 1GB of hard disk drive, and up to 16MB of random access memory, NEC said. Priced starting at $2,299, the new line is designed for medium- and small-business users, business professionals, and students, the company said.

The Versa 4200 series will include 100- or 133-MHz Pentiums, up to 1.08GB hard disk drive, and 8MB RAM. The line will begin shipping this month, starting at $2,999. Designed for businesses of any size, the 4200 will support a variety of multimedia, security and other functions.
