Monty Python has officially announced their reunion for a live stage show — a one-off performance that will be held in London on 1 July 2014.

More than 30 years after the troupe last performed together, Eric Idle, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Michael Palin and Terry Jones, all in their 70s, will tread the boards once again in an Idle-directed show, telling the press conference they want to see if they're still funny.

The performance will be held at London's O2 Arena, which has a seating capacity of 20,000, with ticket prices ranging between £26.50 and £95, and it will feature fan-favourite sketches as well as some new material.

"People do really want to see the old hits, but we don't want to do them in a predictable way," Cleese said. "The main danger we have is that the audience know the scripts better than we do."

That gives Aussies some time to save for a London holiday, but for those who can't make it, never fear — the show will be filmed and released on DVD.

If you do plan to make the trip, tickets go on sale Monday, 25 November, UK time. You can register your interest on the official website.
