Microsoft Releases MSN Figures

The numbers are in. Microsoft has announced that its Microsoft Network (MSN) online service has enrolled more than 525,000 subscribers since its August 24 launch. The company also announed that it will not suspend enrollment as previously planned. The $39.95 per month fee will be extended to subscribers who join by March 31, 1996.

During the next two months, Microsoft will work on an upgrade of the service that will include an easier software downloading process and faster performance, according to company officials. Members will be alerted to the delivery of the update through notices on MSN.

Microsoft will also expand the number of local dial-up sites from the current 80 to 150 by the end of the year.
