Maxtor releases the entire line of OneTouch III drives

As a logical follow-up to the OneTouch III Turbo Edition hard drive announced last year, Maxtor released the entire family of OneTouch III drives at CES. Totally redesigned, the drives feature a ruggedized look and feel, with an I-beam shape and a rubber-textured exterior that feels nicely grippy. The drive is also shock-mounted internally, which means it doesn't just look rugged. The family is vast, starting with a 100GB USB 2.0-only drive (for $159.95) up to the 1TB triple-interface (USB 2.0/FireWire 400/FireWire 800) Turbo Edition that features RAID 0 and RAID 1 configuration options. Between the two extremes are a range of capacities and a two-interface option (USB 2.0/FireWire 400).

The OneTouch III family also sports some new features, including the ability to synchronize data between multiple PCs and a System Rollback feature that takes your PC back to a healthy state without disturbing the data. The new user interface is a vast improvement over both previous versions, and the drives work with both Macs and PCs. All versions should be shipping by the end of the first quarter.
