Marimba wins software technology patent

Marimba, a provider of e-business systems management software, said Wednesday that it won a U.S. patent for technology used in its software. The patent, titled "System and Method for the Distribution of Code and Data," relates in part to the automatic distribution and updating of software applications and data over a network. The patent is for a system and method of distributing software applications and data to thousands of clients over a network. The inventors are Marimba co-founders Arthur van Hoff, Sami Shaio and Jonathan Payne.
