Man loses iPad and finger in daylight robbery

There are two things you kinda need to have when using an iPad. One is an iPad, obviously, and the other is a finger. An American chap ended up with neither thanks to a very determined thief

There are two things you really need to have when using an Apple iPad. One is an Apple iPad, obviously, and the other is a finger. Sadly, an American chap recently ended up with neither thanks to a very determined thief.

The victim, 59-year-old Bill Jordan, says he had just purchased Apple's latest gadget for a friend at the Cherry Creek Apple Store in Denver last Thursday and was near the car park when a thief grabbed his bag.

The bag was tied around Jordan's hand. When it wouldn't come off, the thief yanked harder, stripping part of Jordan's pinky finger "right down to the bone". Later, doctors were left with no choice but to amputate part of the finger.

Jordan later told CNN "I never saw him coming. He just kept pulling and pulling until finally he got it off... there was nothing here but bone."

Police have since released CCTV footage of the incident in the hopes of catching those involved, which you can see in CNN's report below.
