Magellan Green Lights kid-safe sites

The McKinley Group has announced that it will place a Green Light icon next to site descriptions in its Magellan Internet indicating the site's suitability for general viewing.

The McKinley Group has announced that it will place a Green Light icon next to site descriptions in its Magellan Internet directory to indicate that the site does not contain material intended for mature audiences.

Company officials caution that the Green Light designation is based on the Web site content as it exists at the time of the Magellan review and that the company cannot not guarantee that objectionable material will not be added later.

The absence of a Green Light does not mean the site contains objectionable material, company officials say. The McKinley Group says it intends the icons to flag sites that are suitable for general viewing.
