The professional social network says that members can now discreetly tell recruiters they're job hunting without their bosses finding out.

LinkedIn's new Open Candidates feature lets you quietly reach out to recruiters.

Psst, looking for a new job?

LinkedIn says its new feature, Open Candidates, will let its members discreetly notify recruiters they're searching for a new position without their employer knowing.

"Who among us hasn't, at some point, tried to find work without our boss finding out?" Dan Shapero, a LinkedIn careers product manager, said in a blog post Thursday. "Now, you can privately indicate to recruiters on LinkedIn without worrying."

The latest feature for its 450 million members will be viewable only by recruiters who use LinkedIn's Premium service. It comes nearly four months after the social networking site for professionals announced it will be acquired by Microsoft for $26.2 billion.

LinkedIn said Open Candidates has been in beta testing for several months and that 1 million people have already been using the feature. It's currently available in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia.

Despite assurances employers won't know its workers are job hunting using Open Candidates, LinkedIn offers this disclaimer: "We take steps to not show your current company that you're open, but can't guarantee that we can identify every recruiter affiliated with your company."

Good luck.
