Kickstarter has gone live.

The crowd-funding sites on Tuesday launched a live streaming service, allowing creators to give updates and gather feedback in real-time videos.

Kickstarter Live is designed to bring "intimacy" between creators and backers. Like other live streaming services like Facebook Live and Periscope, creators can livestream their work and take questions from backers that pop up immediately. Viewers are encouraged to send questions, make comments send selfies and more.

Kickstarter is just the latest to employ live streaming, which is an increasingly popular form of communication. The company is hoping this feature will help raise community engagement.
