Video-on-demand provider Intertainer says it has appointed Bonnie Johnson as executive vice president of media products and services, a newly created position. Johnson, who previously served as vice president, chief of staff, will oversee the development and release of Intertainer products for the cable and telecommunications industries, according to the company. Johnson has been with the company for two years; she previously worked in areas including project management, software development and quality assurance for companies such as Xerox Computer Services and McDonnell Douglas Information Systems.
The appointment comes shortly after Intertainer announced plans to combine its service with Liberate Technologies' software to help cable operators provide interactive services to consumers. The Los Angeles-based company also has been building content deals, such as a recent agreement with Universal Studios Pay-Per-View that will give it access to new releases and older films from the studio.
