IBM Rolls Out Aptiva Super Gaming PC

IBM has introduced a new model in its Aptiva home computer line aimed at game enthusiasts. Dubbed the Ultimate Gamer, the new machine boasts a 3D graphics accelerator card, a second hard drive to boost storage capacity, and a Pentium processor with L-2 cache and a 6X CD-ROM drive. According to industry gaming analysts, sales of this type of high-powered PC are expected to skyrocket once online gaming becomes more popular.

The Ultimate Gamer is packaged with several games, a Windows 95 preload, Lotus SmartSuite 4.0, and other software titles. The system is available through IBM PC Direct for $4,499 with an IBM G70 monitor or for $4,999 with an IBM G200 monitor.
