IBM posts documentation for Cloudscape

The resources IBM will provide include articles to help Java developers use the Cloudscape database in custom application development.

IBM on Monday said it has published technical documentation to aid the adoption of its Cloudscape database, which the company recently made open source. IBM and the Apache Foundation in early August created an open-source project called Derby around the database, which IBM acquired in 2001 when it purchased Informix. IBM said the Cloudscape development team of about 50 people will continue to work on the database now that it is an open-source project.

The technical resources IBM will provide include articles to help Java developers use Cloudscape in custom application development. The documentation is available from IBM's DeveloperWorks Web site. IBM will also keep a copy of the Derby project source code project on the DeveloperWorks site.
