HP introduces back-to-school line

Hewlett-Packard introduced on Wednesday four products geared at back-to-school shoppers. The Pavilion BT 936 PC, priced at $1,049, features a 1GHz Athlon chip from Advanced Micro Devices, 128MB of memory, 40GB hard drive, a CD-recordable drive, a DVD drive and a 17-inch monitor. The PC is available only at Sam's Club. The $149 Deskjet 940 color inkjet printer has a resolution of up to 2400-by-1200 dots per inch for color photos and 600-by-600 dpi for black text. The $179 CD-writer 8230e drive allows people to back up data and create audio CDs. The $149 Scanjet 4400c color scanner features 1200 dpi resolution. These products are available at retail and on HP's Web site.
