I've said it before and I'll say it again (and, most likely, again after that): I'll never buy another printer that doesn't have Wi-Fi. I mean, come on. Cables? Really? This is the 21st century, people. Next you'll be telling me I have to use a cable to sync my iPhone. (Wait a minute...)
Today only, Epson has the refurbished WorkForce 610 All-in-One Printer for $43 shipped (when you use coupon code review12, otherwise it is $49). This is an office-caliber multifunction that sold for $200 when it debuted earlier this year.
The WorkForce prints, scans, copies, and faxes. It can crank out upwards of 38 pages per minute in both black and color, and it employs high-capacity ink cartridges (four of them) so you're not swapping them out so often. In addition to Wi-Fi, it offers Ethernet and USB connectivity.
The printer includes a 30-sheet document feeder, a 2,400-dpi optical scanner, a 2.5-inch tilting LCD, and slots for just about every memory-card format.
And here's something unprecedented: the 610 comes with a two-year warranty, despite it being a refurb. Note that you have to register with Epson in order to get that coverage.
praised its speedy text/graphics printing, attractive design, and easy setup, but dinged its slow photo output and large footprint. (To both those complaints I say: meh.)
Most of the all-in-ones I see at this price point (and higher) are stripped-down, bare-bones models. The WorkForce 610 has muscle and features to spare. It's an absolute steal at $43--so grab one before they're gone!
Thanks to CNET reader smudgeblot for sharing today's smokin' deal!
Bonus deal: Also today only (and sure to sell out fast), one of my favorite Blu-ray deals is back: the Insignia NS-WBRDVD for $69.95 (plus $4 for shipping). I have this model, which, among other things, streams Netflix. It's awesome.
Bonus deal No. 2: Couldn't leave for the weekend without giving you something that's not due to expire today. The EA Store has Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (PC) for $14.99 (when you select the download version and add it to your cart). That's a full 50 percent off the regular price.
