Beginning on Friday, select Gateway systems will begin selling with the Gateway My Yahoo start page established as the default home page for gateway.net subscribers. This will help easily funnel Gateway users to the Yahoo site where they can personalize their experience with such information as updated national news, sports, financial information, and local weather reports.
The Gateway My Yahoo start page will also include a customized service area for subscribers to access Gateway technical support, gateway.com, gateway.net account information, and an Internet tutorial.
"Gateway has always taken a personalized approach to marketing technology. Now, through our agreement with Yahoo, we can take this one step further--by helping our clients completely optimize their Internet experience," Gateway CEO Ted Waitt said in a statement.
Shares of Yahoo jumped 3.14 percent to 333 in morning trading. The stock has traded as high as 445 and as low as 30.44 during the past 52 weeks. Shares of Gateway dipped 1.11 percent to 77.63, and have traded as high as and as 78.75 low as 36.13 during the past 52 weeks.
