How well doescapture what it's like to live in the worlds of Westeros and Essos? Quite well, actually, according to several stars from the TV series who also appear in the game.
In the company's latest promotional video for the game, Telltale asks Emilia Clarke, Iwan Rheon and Natalie Dormer -- who play Daenerys Targaryen, Ramsay Bolton and Margaery Tyrell, respectively -- to talk about their experiences re-creating the characters for the game and what they think of the game itself.
Overall, the three "Game of Thrones" actors say they're extremely impressed, especially with how the game immerses players in the cutthroat world of the Seven Kingdoms, a universe where decisions often have dire short- or long-term consequences and death lurks around every corner.
And they like how the game explores storylines from George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series of books that weren't included in the TV series, giving players a fresh new look at what's going on in Westeros and Essos.
Of course, it's not like Telltale's going to release a promotional video of Ramsay Bolton flaying the game like he is wont to do with anyone who gets in his way in Westeros. But the actors raise some good points about what Telltale gets right.
Telltale posted the video on Wednesday alongside an announcement that the first episode of the game is now free to play on PlayStation 4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and compatible Android and iOS devices. The announcement also revealed that the final episode of the game -- called The Ice Dragon -- will be available to download on November 17 across all platforms.
