Eric Hahn, the former chief technology officer of Netscape
Communications, now is on the board of directors of Linux seller Red
Hahn was instrumental in driving Netscape's Linux support, Red Hat said, as well as the decision to
release its software as open source, a similar code-sharing
model that Linux uses.
Hahn was chief executive of Collabra Software, then joined Netscape in
November 1995. He was general manager of Netscape's server products
division before being promoted in October 1997 to the CTO position. Hahn left Netscape in June 1998 to
pursue a career funding Internet start-ups.
Hahn also is member of the board of newsgroup site Supernews and Internet
communications company Kana
