Zakarin filed to sell 2,554 shares of his AOL holdings last month, according to filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Those shares were valued at nearly $226,500.
Zakarin's planned sale follows his layoff from AOL's Entertainment Asylum last February. He was among the 40 people--or 50 percent of the staff--who were cut as the online giant folded Entertainment Asylum into another one of its business operations.
Entertainment Asylum was launched in October, both on AOL's proprietary network and on the Web. It resulted from the work of Zakarin and late entertainment executive Brandon Tartikoff.
Zakarin could not be reached for comment.
