Firefox Home brings awesome bar to iPhone

A mobile version of Firefox is on its way to the iPhone: Firefox Home is a free app that syncs your Firefox browsing with your phone.

Mozilla, the company behind the browser, has submitted Firefox Home for approval by Apple. It's not a full version of Firefox, but it brings many of Firefox's clever features to your iPhone or iPod touch.

Home syncs your history, bookmarks and open tabs from Firefox on your computer to your mobile. Walk away from your computer and you'll be able to see the same open tabs on your phone. You can view sites in Firefox Home or switch to Safari.

The app also includes the awesome bar, Firefox's powerful address bar that offers suggestions for Web pages as you start to type.

To link your desktop with your mobile, install the Firefox Sync extension to Firefox on any computers you use. This will sync your browsing to the cloud ready to be pulled in by the mobile app.

An Android version of Firefox Mobile, codenamed Fennec, is also on the cards.
